The main stage of the Conference League began in October last year, and now, in May, the finalists will meet in the decisive game for the prestigious title. The draw for the 1/8 finals took place on February 21, 2025, and it determined the pairs of teams that will continue the fight.
Among the participants was Polish Jagiellonia. In the return match of the play-off round on their home field, they confidently beat Serbian Backa Topola with a score of 3:1. Goals were scored by Christopher Nansen, Jesus Imaz, and the winning point was scored by defender Viktor Radojevic. The only goal for the Serbs was scored by Marko Lazetic. Based on the results of the two matches, the Polish team advanced to the next round with a total score of 6:2. The fans warmly supported their team. Last season, Jagiellonia completed six rounds of the Conference League, drawing their last game with Olimpia L.
The winner of the Conference League in the 2023-2024 season was the Greek club Olympiacos. In the final of that season, they beat the Italian Fiorentina 1-0, thanks to a goal scored by Ayoub Al-Kaabi in the 116th minute. Olympiacos, which plays in the Greek Super League, is considered the most decorated club in the country, having won the championship title 47 times. In the 2023/24 season, Olympiacos became the first Greek club to win the European Cup, forever inscribing its name in the history of football. Under the leadership of Jose Luis Mendilibar, the team continues to fight for the trophy this season. In the last match of the Greek Cup they beat Panathinaikos with a score of 1:0.
