Description

The Puskas Ferenc Stadium in Budapest is one of Hungary's most iconic sports arenas, playing a vital role in the history of European football and mass events. Originally opened in 1953 as the Népstadion, it seated over 100,000 spectators, making it the country's largest stadium. Volunteers and military personnel contributed to its construction, and the opening match between Honvéd and Spartak Moscow attracted approximately 80,000 fans.

The arena made world history in 1954, when the Hungarian national team crushed England 7-1—the English team's heaviest defeat to date. The stadium has also hosted the European Athletics Championships, international football matches, and major cultural events.

The stadium has also hosted legendary concerts: in 1986, Queen, led by Freddie Mercury, performed here as part of the Magic Tour, attracting over 80,000 spectators. In 2001, the arena was renamed in honor of the outstanding Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskas. In 2005, the stadium became one of the filming locations for Steven Spielberg's film "Munich".

In 2014, the last match of the Hungarian national team took place, after which the historic stadium was demolished. In its place, a new, modern arena with a capacity of 65,000 spectators, meeting international standards, was built. Today, this venue hosts major sporting tournaments and concerts of world stars, and on our website you can buy tickets to events featuring the stadium and choose convenient seats in advance.
