The construction process of the stadium was complex and unique, as it was built on the site of the former historic İnönü Stadium, which also served as the home ground of Beşiktaş. However, thanks to the high level of professionalism and enthusiasm of the designers and builders, the dismantling of the old stadium began in June 2013 and was completed on schedule.
