Description

The Stade Bollaert-Delelis is an outstanding sports facility located in the city of Lance, France. This stadium is the home arena for the Lance soccer club and is also used for rugby. Since its renovation in 2015, its capacity is - 38223 people, which is a few more than the population of the city of Lance itself.

The history of the stadium dates back to 1933 when it was first opened. Its name, Stade Félix-Bollaert, was given in honor of Félix Bollaert, the commercial director of the mining industry of Lance, who actively promoted the development of sports in the city.

In September 2012, the stadium was renamed Stade Bollaert-Delelis in honor of André Delelis (1924-2012). André Delelis served as Mayor of Lance for 32 years and also - important government positions, including Minister under President François Mitterrand. This change of name of the stadium was a respect for his significant contribution to city and national politics.
